📖 The weekly intergenerational Bible study via Zoom usually takes place on Thursdays at 7:30 PM. It is on a summer break and will resume in September.
The study by Stephen Nichols of Ligonier Ministries, called Christianity and Liberalism, explores the life and works of J. Gresham Machen and uses them as a guide for how the church has faced the 'present emergency' in every age and what we, as the church today, need to do to 'contend for the faith.'

Calling all mighty prayer warriors to church, Tuesdays at 2:00 pm (in the Pastor's study room).
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." Eph 6:18
To God be the glory!
We would love to welcome more prayer warriors to this important ministry, which meets on the third Friday of each month at 10:30 AM at the church.
Next meeting on November 21st.

Fall Gatherings at St. Andrew’s
We had our first meeting of the 50+ Club for the fall season this past Tuesday (October 21st), with 17 “mature” participants in attendance. My assessment: everyone enjoyed the refreshments, had fun, was encouraged by an inspiring talk by Nicky Gumbel (a follow-up to ALPHA), met some new members, learned to “Think Fast,” and shared ideas for future gatherings (scheduled for the third Tuesday of each month).
I normally send this update only to those who have attended, but I’ve asked to include it in the next general mail-out of What’s Happening at St. Andrew’s—thinking some of you might be curious about what we’re up to and what the 50+ Club is all about.
By the way, everyone is welcome to attend—we don’t check age cards! So, feel free to join us or drop in for a visit anytime.
Ideas for Future Gatherings
Next Meeting: Tuesday, November 18th at 10:00 a.m. at the church
Hosts: Doris and Tim Sabean
We’re never quite sure what Doris and Tim have planned—but it’s always exciting! We’ll enjoy a devotional with some words of wisdom, share coffee/tea and snacks, sing a few songs (in preparation for visits to seniors’ homes and perhaps a “club song” during a future worship service—John Betts, take note!), and plan our upcoming activities.
December Meeting: Tuesday, December 16th
Hosts: Judy Wood & Pauline Ward
We’ll be having a Yankee Swap! Each person attending should bring a wrapped gift valued at $10 or less. During the swap, everyone will select a gift, with opportunities to trade for another as they’re revealed—until everyone ends up with one. We’ll explain the process fully at the meeting.
If your gift is specifically for a man or woman, please label it accordingly; if it’s suitable for anyone, no label is needed. Along with the Swap, we’ll enjoy our usual activities—coffee/tea, snacks, devotional time, and prayer.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Plans are still a mystery at this point, but here are some ideas we’re considering:
Practicing songs to sing at a nursing home or during a worship service
Going bowling
Visiting an Escape Room (yes, that’s how it’s spelled!)
Sharing a meal out together for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, or holidays like St. Patrick’s Day or Valentine’s Day)
Visiting a walking arena
Hosting a movie night
The options are endless—and we’d love to hear your suggestions!
That’s all for now (I do sound like a radio host, don’t I? I always wanted to be one!).
If I’ve missed anything, please let me know.
Hope to see you all on November 18th!
Warm regards,
Harold Wilson
"Ephesians: Wholeness for a Broken World" by Andrew T. Le Peau and Phyllis J. Le Peau
"Broken marriages, shattered friendships, racial divisions, war between nations--we live in a fractured world. How can the pieces be put back together? In Ephesians Paul lifts the veil from the future to allow us to see God's plan to unite everyone and everything in Christ. Studying this book will renew your hope."
This is also a home group Bible study whose face-to-face meetings take place on alternate Sundays evening, at 6:30 pm.
We would love to have you join us. If interested please contact:

The meetings usually take place on the third Saturday of each month, at the church @ 8:00 am.
This is also an intergenerational group. It's a fantastic opportunity for men to gather to lean on each other for support, accountability, brotherhood and aiming to grow in faith and spiritual maturity.
This intergenerational meeting is generally held on the fourth Saturday of each month, typically accompanied with sweet goodies. The current book is "Women of the Word" by Jen Wilkin - How to study the Bible with both our hearts and our minds.
Next meet on October 25th, 2025, @ 9am, at the church. If you're able, please bring a breakfast item to share.
Do you have questions about faith or life? Are there topics you’d like to explore or experience more deeply?
If there’s enough interest, we may offer a course or Small Group series on your suggested topic during the autumn season of 2025, held on Sundays. Depending on the content, it may be open to all or geared toward a specific age group or life stage. The series could run for a few weeks or span several months—we’re still figuring that part out.
We want to hear from you! The survey will remain open all summer, and all responses will go directly to our Lead Pastor (don’t worry—he’s friendly and won’t bite, we promise!).
Let’s grow in faith together. Click here to share your thoughts.
